Ashley co-led the architecture team while at Lake|Flato Architects from the initial Competition through the fast-paced Construction. She collaborated intensely with software developers, robotics engineers, and material scientists to help craft the design and innovative strategies required for printed concrete construction. Her focus was on “future-proofing” the home to the extent possible by keeping concrete where it works best (largely the outer envelope, which can last 100+ years and has robust thermal performance) while pairing it with the warmth of sustainably-harvested wood (which can be adapted more easily to evolving living conditions in the future).
